This summer, sectiontoo is three for three!
After delivering “Closer 2 U” and “Main Ingredient” earlier this summer, sectiontoo returns with “KiSS.” More subdued and toned down than the two previous singles, the Die Next Weekend, Yaseer, and BSIDES-produced track has a warmth and smoothness that is satisfying. While “KiSS” has a more subdued tempo, it still shares themes of love, intimacy and endearment that are driven home by sectiontoo’s clever songwriting and effortless delivery. Adding on, the message of the single is amplified by the William Breen-directed video that finds the New York native paying homage to classic films like Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It and Theodore Witcher’s Love Jones while giving screen time to some of his closest friends and collaborators.
“It was really an honor and a privilege to share the screen with some of the closest people to me. Obviously, this song is very romantic in nature but connection and intention can be felt in numerous ways which is why I wanted to just hang with my friends for this one,” he wrote on Instagram. “Over the past month, I’ve leaned on the people around me and it’s helped me tremendously so again KiSS the homies and tell them you love them. KiSS your significant other and tell them you love them it’s all important.”
