New York’s own sectiontoo has set the release date for his next single. “Different,” the lead single from the emerging artist’s upcoming project, will arrive July 12, 2024. The New York native didn’t offer much else regarding the single, but he did share a snippet of what he says is his “favorite song on [the] album.” rBeginning with what looks like behind-the-scenes footage of a photoshoot centering the artist, the song begins to play in the background as section begins to float over the beat with a flow that resides right in between singing and rapping.
“You ain’t ever paid my bills. You ain’t ever kept me fed. I’m like Ben Simmons. [I’m] about my bread. I do not play,” he raps with speed and ease.
“Different” sets the stage for sectiontoo’s most highly-anticipated work yet. Riding the highs of “Honeybun,” “Max B Frestyle” and “Wishes Love Could Stand On,” he’s picked up a co-sign from Nyla Symone and earned airplay on Power 105.1. Now, he turns to his forthcoming project, a body of work that he says will show his growth as an artist and a person.
“I think people will be able to hear the growth,” sectiontoo said about his upcoming album.
“It’s a really big deal for me to be able to share my gift with the world because not many people get the chance to do so. It’s truly a privilege.”
The road to the album begins July 12 with the release of “Different.” Check out the snippet below.
