Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith is the latest player to be suspended by the NFL after pleading guilty for a DUI back in April of 2014. Smith unlike the other recent suspensions involving Antonio Gates, Rolando McClain, and Sheldon Richardson has nothing to do with performing enhancing drugs. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport first reported the news.
Usual suspension for a DUI is 2 games, unless there are extenuating circumstances. #Chief CB Sean Smith hit a street lamp. Led to extra game

As odd is that may seem yes a street lamp lead to an extra game Smith will have to serve. Smith, 27, will miss games against the Texans, Broncos, and Packers to start the season. First round pick Marcus Peters will have to step up his game as he will have to serve as the number one corner in Smith’s absence.
