On Monday, December 1, 2025, Netflix unveiled the trailer for its forthcoming documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning. Executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the documentary is “a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender” and will begin streaming on the platform on December 2, 2025.
“Through explosive, never-before-seen materials, including exclusive interviews with those formerly in his orbit, this documentary tells the story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built — and the underworld that lay just beneath its surface,” Netflix adds.
The forthcoming documentary is scheduled to arrive as Combs serves the remainder of his 50-month sentence in Fort Dix. On September 17, 2024, the infamous producer was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
“As alleged in the Indictment, for years, Sean Combs used the business empire he controlled to sexually abuse and exploit women, as well as to commit other acts of violence and obstruction of justice. Today, he is charged with racketeering and sex trafficking offenses. If you have been a victim of Combs’ alleged abuse – or if you know anything about his alleged crimes – we urge you to come forward. This investigation is far from over,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said at the time of the arrest.
While awaiting trial, Combs was held at MDC Brooklyn alongside other high-profile inmates, including Sam Bankman-Fried. After a lengthy trial earlier this year, the disgraced media mogul was ultimately found guilty of two counts of transporting people for prostitution.
Since being moved from MDC Brooklyn to Fort Dix, Combs has reportedly enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program.
“Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start,” spokesperson Juda Engelmayer said. “He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”
However, he was reportedly caught with contraband alcohol as recently as last month. It is unclear how, if at all, this will impact his legal team’s push during the appeals process. Oral arguments for his appeal could begin as early as next spring.
