The Seattle Seahawks might have lost a future hall-of-famer in Marshawn Lynch due to retirement and the future of offensive lineman Russell Okung is still up in the air but they made a trio of moves to lock up some of their better second tier players for a few more seasons.
Wide Receiver Jermaine Kearse, cornerback Jeremy Lane and punter Jon Ryan have all inked deals to remain with Seattle. Kearse is important to the Seahawks pass attack especially without Lynch, Russell Wilson might be rolling out a lot more and hitting either Kearse, tight end Jimmy Graham or number one receiver Doug Baldwin. For Lane, he’s going to be expected to line up on the right side of the field with All-Pro corner Richard Sherman planted on the left. Securing Jon Ryan means the Seahawks lock up one of the best punters in the league for a few more seasons.
