Many thought last season was going to be the drop-off for the Seattle Seahawks. After a 10-6 regular season and a playoff appearance, it’s safe to say those predictions were proved wrong. But if the team wants a repeat of those successes in 2019, they can’t afford to lose too many more players like defensive lineman Jarran Reed, who was suspended six games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Sources: #Seahawks standout DL Jarran Reed is being suspended 6 games for a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy for an incident from early 2017. He was not charged or arrested. His appeal was denied Friday morning. Huge on-field impact.

The suspension stems from an incident that took place in late April of 2017. Reed was accused of assault but was never charged or arrested.
Although it feels trivial in these matters to focus on the on-field aspect, the Seahawks nonetheless are going to be without a player they were expecting big things from this season.
Reed was a second-round pick out of Alabama in the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s a guy whose impact on the game isn’t necessarily reflected in the stats because most of the time his job to absorb as many offensive linemen as possible in order to put his teammates in a better position to make plays.
The 26-year-old Reed will be entering his fourth NFL season. To date, he has 129 tackles (solo and assists), 17 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, four passes defended, and two fumble recoveries.
On Twitter, Reed issued the following statement:

Jarran Reed will be eligible for reinstatement at the start of Week 7.
