It looks like Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese are going to be teaming up again soon. The duo has worked together five times before, most recently on Wolf of Wall Street in 2013.
DiCaprio will star in an adaptation of the book Killers of the Flower Moon, written by David Grann. The rights to the book were acquired by Imperative Entertainment in 2016. They will produce the film alongside Scorsese and Appian Way Productions.
The story is set in 1920s Oklahoma and revolves around the Osage Nation, who were the richest people per capita in the world. After oil was discovered under their land, they were murdered one by one. As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI took up the case and unraveled a chilling conspiracy.
Scorsese released a statement regarding the forthcoming film. “When I read David Grann’s book, I immediately started seeing it. I knew that I had to make it into a movie. I’m so excited to be working with Eric Roth and reuniting with Leo DiCaprio to bring this truly unsettling story to the screen.”
Eric Roth will write the script. No release date has been announced for the film so far.
