It has been reported that Scarlett Johansson has been offered the lead role in the adaptation for Ghost in the Shell.
According to Deadline, Dreamworks is offering Scar-Jo $10 million for the live action film.
Margot Robbie was previously in talks for the film, but dropped out to pursue filming for Warner Bros Suicide Squad.
Set in 2029, Ghost in the Shell tells the story of cyborg security officer Motoko Kusanagi and her Section 9 coworkers, who are set on the trail of a dangerous hacker.
It has been reported that Johansson is said to be wanted following her performance in Lucy and other Marvel Studios’ projects.
No word yet on if Johansson has confirmed the role.
