San Antonio Spurs Advance To Second Straight NBA Finals With 112-107 Win In Game 6
The San Antonio Spurs will make their second consecutive trip to the NBA Finals after taking down the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-107 in a Game 6 overtime thriller in the Western Conference Finals. Boris Diaw led San Antonio with 26 points off the bench. Tim Duncan had 19 points (7 in OT) and 15 rebounds for the Spurs.
Easily the most competitive game of the series, the two teams were about even until San Antonio erupted for a 15-2 run at the end of the third quarter going into the fourth. Tony Parker was ruled out for the rest of the game at halftime for the Spurs, but the timely contributions from reserves gave San Antonio a glaring 51-5 bench scoring advantage over the Thunder. Russell Westbrook led Oklahoma City with 34 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Kevin Durant finished with 31 points and 14 rebounds.
San Antonio will face the Miami Heat in a rematch of last year’s NBA Finals. Game 1 is on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. EST in San Antonio.
