The Sacramento Kings are back to trying to find another head coach. To this day I am still wondering why Michael Malone was fired. The George Karl hiring was a trainwreck from day 1, Karl wasn’t on the same page with anybody. Divac didn’t vibe with him, DeMarcus Cousins was in his face all the time. The Kings are still trash.
And now, for some reason, they think that there’s a possibility that current Clippers assistant coach Mike Woodson might be the one. They will give him an interview.
The Kings sought and were granted permission by the Clippers to meet with Woodson in the near future, sources said.
Woodson, 58, is one of several former head coaches with whom the Kings want to discuss their job opening. The Kings also have interest in Vinny Del Negro, Kevin McHale and Mark Jackson, among others.
Last time we saw Mike Woodson as top dog he was in New York. Fair play to Woodson, he got them into the Playoffs but that was a real bumpy ride for him, he’s now in sunny LA hooking up Doc Rivers.
Honestly the Kings job is just so toxic on the face. I love DeMarcus but he’s so hard to get on the same page with and the higher ups are mental. I wouldn’t even look at that job, let alone interview for it.
