
Wu-Tang Clan frontman RZA will direct the suspense horror thriller “Angel of Dust” for Impossible Dream Entertainment. He will also produce with fellow bandmate Ghostface Killah, manager Caruso, and Shaun Redick (“BlacKkKlansman”).
The project is inspired by true stories of what happened to members of the iconic rap group when they were growing up in and around the Staten Island Projects. A series of bizarre and horrifying events shaped their mindsets to launched the Wu-Tang Clan which became a worldwide music powerhouse.
In the film, an exceptionally smart teenager and talented rapper have been forced to grow up in NY’s roughest inner-city streets following the mysterious death of his parents.
He must put his skills to the test to survive not only the gangs, corrupt cops, junkies and bullies but a serial killer with seemingly supernatural powers dubbed Angel of Dust by the media.
Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith (“Summer of 84,” “The Harrowing”) penned the script. The Wu-Tang Clan will provide a new soundtrack and RZA will also score the movie.
