The Creighton Bluejays will be without guard Ryan Nembhard after he suffered a wrist injury that will require surgery. This injury is an unfortunate ending for a talented freshman having a fantastic first season of college basketball. The injury happened when he collided with Saint John’s guard Posh Alexander during their game on Wednesday night. Creighton would go on to close out and win that game 81-78. The Big East will be a little less exciting without the electric freshman guard in it this year.
Awful news on Creighton point guard Ryan Nembhard— who is done for the season with a wrist injury.
He was having one of the best seasons of any freshman in the country. https://t.co/7ft2uXjZyd

Ryan Nembhard has had a fantastic freshman season for the Creighton Bluejays. He averaged 11.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 4.4 assists per game in his first college basketball season. The future for the freshman is unclear due to his NBA aspirations. It is likely he will declare for the 2022 NBA Draft with the option to withdraw before the deadline. The feedback he gets in that process will likely determine if he comes back to college basketball or not. A wrist injury could also hamper his 2022 NBA Draft process.
Praying for our guy Ryan Nembhard tonight. Our team banded together to fight for him after he went down with an injury. They came together to get a road win for our fallen teammate. Incredible road win over a very good basketball team! I love this team! #RDJ ??? https://t.co/LBqZuM8btV

The Creighton Bluejays are 19-8 overall and 11-5 in Big East play which has them ranked third in the Big East Standings. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Ryan Nembhard the best in his recovery and return to the court.
