Rising super lightweight contender Ryan Garcia is back in the gym following after suffering the first loss of his professional career. This time around, he’s working under the leadership of trainer Derrick James. By doing so, he’s begun training alongside lightweight contender Frank Martin, former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and of course, Errol Spence Jr. Recently, Garcia chopped it up with the good folks at Fight Hub TV to talk about Spence Jr.’s upcoming welterweight class with Terence Crawford. As Garcia sees it, his new training mate will outlast the WBO Welterweight Champion.
“He’s just gonna do what he does. Put that pressure on him, start getting to him in the later rounds. It’s gonna be a good fight but I think Spence is obviously gonna win. By decision, I unanimous. But we’ll see,” Garcia told Fight Hub TV.
“Terence is a bad man too, but I got Errol for sure.”
Garcia is not the only person who thinks Spence Jr. will walk away with the win on Saturday, July 29. Former world champion Adrien Broner has been vocal in his support of Spence Jr. as well. However, former trainer Teddy Atlas and former world champion Carl Froch have put their metaphorical money on Crawford. As for the sports betting books, it’s nearly an even fight. One week away from the fight, Spence Jr. is a slight +120 underdog while Crawford is a slight -155 favorite.
