Marvel’s search for a “Black Panther” director has come to an end. Ryan Coolger, the man behind Michael B. Jordan’s last two hits, Fruitvale Station and CREED, will now get the chance to try his vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Coolger has a lot on his plate bringing the story of T’Challa — who’s played by Chadwick Boseman — and Wakanda to life.
Kevin Feige, in the upcoming issue of Empire Mag, describes “Black Panther” as an important film as it is the first stand alone Black superhero movie for Marvel in a long time. Feige also says “not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda, which is a whole new setting and culture to explore.”
Ryan, Marvel, the writers and cast of “Black Panther” have until 2018 to get the film correct, which they will, but fans will get their first look at Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War this upcoming May.
