So, Russell Westbrook is pretty good.
The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard recorded yet another triple-double adding to his league lead. Westbrook’s eighteenth triple-double of the season occurred in the first half of the Thunder’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers in just under eighteen minutes of play, the second fastest to ever reach the milestone.
Russ finished the game with 13 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds while playing fewer than 28 minutes. Meanwhile, his OKC team demolished the Lakers, winning 112-79.
The point guard’s tremendous season has seen him surpass Magic Johnson with the most single-season triple-doubles since 1985. More importantly, he has helped lead the Thunder to clinching the third seed in the Western Conference where they will hope to upset the Golden State Warriors and/or the San Antonio Spurs in the postseason.
With Westbrook playing as well as he currently is, the Thunder will have a chance to do the impossible. The team is obviously hoping for a Finals berth and a championship and their star point guard’s play, added to Kevin Durant’s usual stellar play, of course, could be the key to finally delivering it. It certainly appears as though Russell is ready to do his best to bring home the trophy.
