
The Houston Rockets pulled together the series-clinching win in game five on Tuesday. In front of their home crowd, the Rockets managed to weather the furious storm of Russell Westbrook, pulling away in the fourth quarter to advance to the second round.
It was a predictably feisty game from both squads with the Rockets aiming to get rest before the next series while the Thunder played with their backs against the wall, trying to extend their season one more game. The animosity between both squads peaked in a small scuffle between Thunder star Russell Westbrook and Rockets defensive ace Patrick Beverley, who have a history:

But the contentious affair was not limited to the basketball court. After the game, Westbrook threw shade at Beverley for promoting himself as an elite defender:

Meanwhile, Beverley continued praising his defense of Westbrook, referring to the Thunder point guard’s inefficient play in the postseason:
