Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has been on an insane tear as of late and on this night against the Philadelphia 76ers it was business as usual for Westbrook.
Russell played in this game, only 48 hours after facial surgery to repair a broken bone.
He just had surgery on his face, just had a dent in his face this past Friday night. On Wednesday, only 5 days later, he came back to lead the Thunder against the lowly 76ers.
The Sixers didn’t go down without a fight though, even pushing the Thunder to overtime but it didn’t matter to a newly masked Russell Westbrook.
He finished the night with a career-high 49 points, career-high 16 rebounds and 10 assists on the night for the Thunder, who continue to be without the reigning NBA MVP, Kevin Durant.
Westbrook might have a solid case for his own MVP candidacy as he was also voted the Western Conference player of the month. He is on one of the best streaks in the history of the NBA, including the fact that he is the first player since Michael Jordan in 1989 to have more than 3 consecutive triple-double games.
Who knows where the streak might end for the Thunder star, but one thing is for certain, it’s definetely primetime to enjoy Russell Westbrook and everything he’s doing for his team.
