Russell Brand will enter the smart cage, sort of.
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Donagh Corby of Bloody Elbow shared a video of Russell Brand standing in the smart cage at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium with Professional Fighters’ League (PFL) Chairman Donn Davis.
“Russell Brand is being shown around the PFL Smart Cage by Donn Davis in Nashville ahead of tomorrow night’s fights. Interesting…,” he wrote.
Brand also appeared at weigh-ins for the upcoming PFL event, and now, Corby writes, “He is set for a role on the broadcast.”
Brand joins a wide-ranging list of celebrities who have become involved with the PFL. The mixed martial arts promotion has previously worked with Kevin Hart, Wiz Khalifa, Jake Paul, and several other prominent figures. However, the PFL’s relationship with Brand becomes public at a point of uncertainty for the comedian and actor.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, Russell Brand attended a pre-trial hearing at London’s Southwark Crown Court and pleaded not guilty to each of the five counts of rape and assault he’s been charged with. Brand has been accused of raping, groping, and sexually assaulting several women between 1999 and 2004. The trial is expected to begin in June 2026 and is anticipated to last approximately four weeks. Brand, living in Florida, will remain out on bond until then.
