During his run to prominence in the early to mid-2010s, Russ fed his fans by delivering a new song each and every week. By doing this, he built a fan base that would propel him to the top of the charts and put him on award ceremony stages. As time went on, he slightly moved away from this and put more of his energy toward building projects and releasing singles here and there. After experimenting with both methods, he has moved back to his earlier methods.
“[I’m] dropping weekly again with clear intention. [They are] all my best songs. [There] is an unmatched energy that I missed so much All I wanna do is make music and drop it. The industry games are draining, so I’d rather not play them. Shoutout to the fans, always,” he said about his decision to release one song per week.
In recent weeks, Russ has kept his promise to release one song per week. Thus far, he’s dropped songs like “Small Talk,” “Bankrupt,” “Status” and “Breathe.” Keeping the momentum going, Russ has reached out to Rexx Life Raj for “Private” produced by Illmind.
“This was the song I was gonna drop after ‘Best On Earth’ but then it went nuts so I never got around to it [It is a] special one,” he told fans about the track.
