The Cleveland Cavaliers have kept an open mind to trading the #1 overall pick if they can receive a young star or picks in return. According to Chad Ford of ESPN The Orlando Magic have expressed interest in the number one pick, and they would include Arron Afflalo in the deal.
Orlando holds the number four pick in the draft and could help Cleveland land a high level talent to their already young roster while adding a veteran to the mix could help the rebuilding process. Cleveland has requested that Orlando includes the number twelve pick as well though, and that could cause Orlando to hesitate on a deal since The Magic have quite a few needs as well.
Cleveland has talked trade with teams like Philadelphia, Utah, and Orlando who all hold high draft picks and in those offers they’ve included their picks and a veteran player, but none I’d say are worth trading the pick for. This is one of the few deals though we’ve seen reported for the number one pick, but certainly won’t be the last as we approach Thursday’s draft.
