It’s been nearly one year since Ronny Turiaf has played in an NBA game, but he’s looking to make his comeback after missing all of last season rehabbing a hip injury.
The ten year veteran has seen his shares of ups and downs which after going through heart surgery the big man has provided teams with some good energy off the bench.
“One of my dreams while I was a child was to live in the USA. It is ten years since I am in the NBA. Why not continue here?”
–Turiaf’s interview with French Publisher
His latest stop in Minnesota where he only played in two games in 2014-2015, but averaged 4 points per game the year before. Turiaf was only a veteran to fill out a roster spot on a young team like the Timberwolves.
If Turiaf is finally healthy he could land on a team that has injuries to the center position or a possible contender as we’ve seen Turiaf has played on a few contending teams. We’ve seen Turiaf provide hustle and solid defense in the paint which could be expected once again.
If Ronny Turiaf is signed it won’t be until all of the bigger names are gone and teams looking to fill out rosters, and I would not be surprised a team offers him a training camp spot to see where he’s at health wise.
