Free agent guard Ronnie Brewer has been signed by the Houston Rockets on a two year deal.
This is Ronnie’s sixth team in his 7th year as an NBA pro. It’s his third team in a year! He was a member of the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder since 2012.
I think this will be a clean slate for Ronnie as he has jumped around many teams trying to find the success he had in his many years at Utah.
When he was with the Knicks he was forced to go under arthroscopic knee surgery (specific date 7th September 2012). He was out for six weeks. I’m sure he’s taken time since then to stay healthy and I guess the Rockets are ready to trust him to be ready when they need him.
He obviously won’t get numbers like he he did in his third year at Utah (13.7 PPG and 32.2 MPG, his best year in them two categories) but he is a defensive powerhouse, an amazing perimeter defender and I think the Rockets will use him in the right way.
