Across the United States of America, concerned citizens are locked in to CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and number of other news stations as election results come in. Among the dozens of elections taking place across the map, a few have stood out as being special. These important elections include Stacey Abrams run for governor, Jared Polis campaign for governor and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez run for Congress. In addition, Andrew Gillum’s run for governor has also gained traction. Thanks to an infectious personality, appearances on The Breakfast Club and support from Barack Obama, Gillum has become somewhat of a household name across the country.
Today, Gillum’s hard work was put to the test. In spite of personal attacks from his opponent, Romeo DeSantis, Gillum has stayed true to his campaign. Unfortunately, it appears that Gillum may have come up just short in his run to become the first black governor of the state of Florida. According to the most recent projections, Gillum will fall approximately 1% or about 80,000 votes short of becoming Florida’s next governor. The Mayor of Tallahassee has yet to make a public statement, but it appears that he has come up just short. With that being said, Gillum has a bright future ahead of him.
