The Indiana Pacers appear to be active at the trade deadline. Despite reports that Paul George will not be dealt, the Pacers are still keeping the phone lines open for potential deals.
Reports have suggested that Indiana is looking to deal a first round pick in order to get veteran help. But it appears as though they are willing to sell off some of their own players as well.
Following via Nate Taylor of the Indy Star:
Opposing team executives have expressed interest in acquiring third-year wing Glenn Robinson III and veteran guard Rodney Stuckey, according to league sources. Robinson, who is one of the younger Pacers at 23, has intrigued teams with his athleticism and improvement this season. In 55 games this season, Robinson has averaged 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds. He is also shooting 38.4 percent on 3s.
Stuckey is a veteran guard capable of being a backup for any team (cc: LeBron James and the Cavaliers). Robinson, fresh off a dunk contest win, is more of a flyer (pun intended) with the potential to become a much better piece for a team.
Taylor reports that George, Myles Turner, and Jeff Teague are all untouchable in trade talks.
The Pacers have also been rumored as potential destinations for Jahlil Okafor and Brook Lopez. That may lead one to speculate that they are looking for a big man, despite Turner’s emergence as a star in the making.
