The injury occurred during a sequence in which he attempted to steal the ball from Memphis Grizzlies’ center Jonas Valanciunas. Hood finished the game with 3 points and 1 steal in 13 minutes of action.
It’s been a rough few years for Hood, mainly due to the significant injuries suffered. In 2020, he tore his Achilles tendon. Injuries and subpar performance go hand in hand. Hood hasn’t found himself on the court much this season, averaging only 17 minutes.
Hood can focus on rehab to come back healthy for the 2021-2022 season. Regarding his contract, Hood has a $10.9 million deal for next season. However, it’s not fully guaranteed. Time will tell if Toronto deems it fit for Hood to stay a Raptor.
