It’s safe to say James Harden and Kevin Durant are still BFF’s. In the past All-Star Weekends they’ve been together whether it be watching the Rising Stars Challenge, or just chilling.
The Houston Rockets, who were 0-2 when going for max players this past summer (Melo and Bosh). According to SLAMonline, Are getting ahead early, very early. By naming James Harden as their lead recruiter for Kevin Durant for when he becomes a Free Agent in 2016.
Sources say, they’d like to give Harden an opportunity to serve as Houston’s lead recruiter in the pursuit of a free agent named Kevin Wayne Durant.
“We are always going to be swinging big,” GM Daryl Morey said. “We’re only about trying to win championships and how to make that happen. We take big swings at things. Obviously, it worked out the last two summers, but the only way you can land a James Harden or a Dwight Howard is by taking big swings. Sometimes, you hit. Sometimes, you miss. Bosh chose to stay in Miami, but that’s not always going to be the case. […] If that had worked out, everyone is obviously writing a very different story about the Rockets, but it didn’t work out. And we had to choose the best path when it didn’t work out. […] I’m very comfortable we made the right decisions all along given the info we had. It’s only the scenario where you know all the information at the end where you can go back and say ‘This was a good decision or this was a bad decision.“
The Rockets are treading some sketchy waters here. Think about it. They are already under a little pressure for not making wave in the Playoffs. You think that Kevin Durant will go to Houston, just because he and Harden are boys?
No! Houston cannot afford to not make progress for the next two years. They have to get it done right now. Without Durant. They don’t have time for long term planning such as this.
And who’s to say that Durant would come to Houston? Honestly. Out of OKC, Houston and Washington. I’d take Washington.
In two years time, Wall and Beal will be nearing there primes. They have good pieces now, the guard will most likely change but they do look stable and I believe that Washington have a better plan than OKC and Houston do.
But then again. Why are we arguing this? It’s in two years time. Many things will change. Call me the Oracle. But Washington look more well off than OKC and Houston.
