Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander recently donated $500,000 to Houston relief efforts, multiple reports indicate. Major flooding has caused severe issues in Houston lately, with storms leaving eight people dead and thousands of homes destroyed. An estimated $5 billion worth of damage has been recorded so far.
With this tragic news emerging, Alexander decided to make a generous donation towards helping the Greater Houston Storm Relief Fund:

Alexander presented the $500,000 check after the first quarter of Houston’s Playoff game on Thursday. He planned this donation well in advance, ever since hearing the news in Oakland during Game 2.
Following from Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle:
“The city needed help,” Alexander said. “A lot of people are in need. We try as an organization to help and I thought a nice sized donation would encourage other people to help and it’s happened. I have a lot and the city of Houston has been very kind to me over the years and I thought I would give back.”
As for the Rockets, they took Game 3 Thursday 97-96 against the Golden State Warriors. With Warriors guard Stephen Curry slated to make his return soon, they’ll need to defend their home court once again in Game 4 and hope to head back to Oakland tied 2-2.
