It was a pretty eventful day in Houston as the Rockets attempted to finalize their roster with the right pieces to put around James Harden. While we knew the future for new signees Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson were safe, there were a couple of other acquisitions who did not feel the same sense of security.
After acquiring Tyler Ennis earlier this fall in exchange for Michael Beasley, there was an early report that they waived him in favor of Pablo Prigioni. It appears that might not be the case and they want to keep Ennis to help the Rockets point guard depth, especially as Patrick Beverley misses time.
As the five o’clock deadline hit, the Rockets are reportedly down to their 15 man roster. They have reportedly waived veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni and young wings Gary Payton II, P.J. Hairston and Le’Bryan Nash.

Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has waived guard/forward P.J. Hairston, forward Le’Bryan Nash, and guard Gary Payton II.
Hairston signed with the Rockets on Sept. 30 while Nash signed on Oct. 22. Payton II was eligible for the 2016 NBA Draft and competed for the Rockets in the Samsung NBA Summer League and in this preseason.
