Daryl Morey, General Manager of the Houston Rockets. Likes to talk. This season he has flapped his lips, making arguments that nobody actually asked for. Why he talked about statistics forcing Charles Barkley to go off. I have no idea. General Managers are supposed to handle the team from behind the scenes. Morey is talking so much that he might as well be there for every post-game press conference.
Oh look! Another Morey sighting!
With the recent news of Patrick Beverley being ruled out for the remainder of the season and also the Playoffs. The Rockets are thin in the PG spot. With only Pablo Prigioni and Jason Terry. That’s not a Playoff set right there. But despite the injuries, Morey still still believes that the Rockets can go all the way according to ESPN.com.
“We think we can win the title with or without Beverley,” Morey said on ESPN Radio’s Basketball Insiders show. “Obviously it gets more challenging without Beverley; he’s the key to our ability to guard a lot of these very good point guards in the West.”
Morey said the Golden State Warriors, who own the NBA’s best record and swept the season series against the Rockets this season, should be the favorites to win the title.
Did anybody hear a reason for why they’d win it? No? Isn’t just me then. Good.
Houston are good. I’m not stupid. They’ll make some waves in the Playoffs. If they face Dallas in the first round like the current Playoff Picture suggests. I’d pick the Rockets for that. But I can’t put them any further than that. Despite Harden’s stupid season. We still haven’t seen him in the Playoffs. Every time OKC or Houston needed him. He’s been invisible. Until I see him make waves. I can’t put them any further than the second round.
