Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has a great sense of humor, but unfortunately a man in his position isn’t allowed to publicize it.
Morey opened up his twitter page to a Question and Answer session, where fans would tweet the Rocket GM questions and he would respond back to them.
Let’s be real for a minute though. Any GM of a pro sports team who opens up their twitter account like that is either very brave, or the man in that city because most fans usually don’t like with their team’ s GM.
The tweet that got Morey in trouble was when a fan asked him if he ever gets tired of watching basketball for his job.
Morey’s legendary response: “No, it is like being a gynecologist, you don’t get sick of it”
Later in the day, Morey issued an apology through the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen.
“I had a tweet that was in bad taste,” Morey said. “I’m going to leave the comedy to the professionals. I think I’m going to stick with my GM job.”
There’s been no word whether the NBA will punish Morey for this “incident” or lack their of.
In all seriousness though after signing Josh Smith, and just in case this whole general manager job thing doesn’t work out, comedy could be a solid option for Morey.
