The Rockets simply can’t catch a break, having dealt with an array of injuries throughout the season.
Patrick Beverly is sidelined with a torn ligament, and could be out for the remainder of the season.
Furthermore, Just two days after the return of Dwight Howard, a new injury has arisen in the front court, further depleting the already shorthanded Rockets.
The team announced the injury via tweet:
Donatas Motiejunas was evaluated after having lower back pain, will be removed from basketball activities for 1 to 2 weeks & reevaluated.

It’s really a shame to see a player like Donatas Motiejunas go down with an injury. Motiejunas has been so good this year. Motiejunas is averaging 12 points and 5.9 rebounds per game on the season, and has started in 62 of the 71 games that the Rockets have played.
This late in the season, with only 11 games remaining, even the most minor of injuries can be devastating to a team. The Rockets will need as many healthy players as possible come playoff time, so they would be wise not to rush back Motiejunas.
