I was driving to my fiancee’s house yesterday when I heard the news. A good friend of mine (let’s call him “Charlie”) from Alabama just texted me, “Rob Bironas died. Auburn boy :(”
While not a household name, Rob Bironas was once upon a time one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL. After nine years with the Titans he had some stints with miscellaneous arena league teams, then most recently had tryouts with Tampa and Detroit.
He died at 36 in a car accident.
Terry Bradshaw skipped out on his duties as an NFL analyst for Fox on Sunday. Rob Bironas was his son-in-law.
