The LOUD-era proved to be both commercially successful and controversial for Rihanna. From the “glamorized” shooting in the “Mandown” video to the provocative sexual acts performed in the “S&M” video. The latter video was also hit with a big lawsuit from famed photographer, David LaChapelle. LaChapelle claimed that the video treatment for “S&M” was similar to his work for Vogue Italia and ultimately sued the Bajan for copyright infringement.
Now that the LOUD-era has come to an end, so has the above controversy. Rihanna and her legal team have settled with LaChapelle who is “happy” with the undisclosed settlement amount.
