Ricky Rubio has been all over the place in his NBA career. First of all, he’s NEVER been able to get healthy, which will make any GM in the league go insane. He’s been giving the keys to the PG role in Minnesota but hasn’t played enough games for them to even create around him. Don’t get me wrong, Rubio’s passing ability and his overall knowledge of the game makes him lethal, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy enough to prove it consistently. Now, with his contract not ending anytime soon, and his career not looking any better, he wants a trade.
According to Chad Ford from ESPN:
As the Luckiest franchise T-wolves will be the 4-th ? if yes what’s their pick ?
Chad Ford (1:17 PM)
Actually they have a 35% chance of finishing 4th, a 17.8% chance of finishing 3rd, a 21.5% chance of finishing 2nd and a 25% chance of finishing first. So, finishing 4th is the most likely outcome actually. No conspiracy needed! If they go to fourth, I think they take Emmanuel Mudiay and explore trading Ricky Rubio (his camp has been pushing for a trade for a while) or break outside the consensus Top 4 and take Kristaps Porzingis.
Well if Rubio is serious about leaving I wouldn’t really mind it. If the Wolves get the first pick, they can draft Jahlil Okafor or Karl Anthony Towns which will create a dynamic duo of Wiggins and Okafor, and develop LaVine into the PG of the future. A young team with three future superstars? Do you hear that? Yep, Minnesota fans walking into the Target Center for the first time since Kevin Love left.
