Some may think that the Knicks are set at point guard with Jose Calderon, Langston Galloway, and rookie Jerian Grant, so could Ricky Rubio really end up with the Knicks?
It’s been no secret that Rubio and his current team the Timberwolves have been trying to work out a trade, as Rubio’s days in Minnesota seem to be numbered with the emergence of Zach LaVine and drafting Tyus Jones.
Ian Begley of ESPN.com is reporting that the Knicks aren’t sold on their trio of point guards, meaning Rubio to the Knicks could be a real possibility. Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports that the Timberwolves are growing impatient with Rubio’s production and would like to trade him sooner than later.
The Knicks were have explored in trying to acquire a “big name” point guard in the past, like Goran Dragic, Ty Lawson and Eric Bledose but have stood pat.
Rubio could be a solid addition to New York with his pass first mentality, and might be able to work well with Carmelo Anthony.
So Knicks fans, would you welcome Ricky Rubio with open arms?
