Over the last decade, Drake and Rick Ross may in fact be the best unofficial duo in music. From the release of “Lord Knows” on Take Care to “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” on Scary Hours II, the duo has managed to put out hit after hit after hit. Not to mention, the two manage to push each other to perform lyrically in a way that is different from their other singles. As a result, fans have been asking and pleading for a joint album from the two. According to Rick Ross, it could very well become a reality in the near future.
“After our latest release, ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle,’ we had that conversation and it’s most definitely under serious consideration. Real talk,” he said during an interview with Streetz 94.5 in Atlanta.
Adding to the news Rick Ross shared during an interview in Atlanta, it was seemingly confirmed from an unlikely source. In a tweet, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson appeared to confirm that the two are actively working on the project.
The joint album they’re doing together [will] unseat all projects they’ve done to date,” Johnson tweeted.
Drake is certainly in the studio regularly working on his solo album, so it is not out of the realm of possibility. Certified Lover Boy is due out later this year and Rick Ross may return with a new project as well.
