It seems like Rick Carlisle does not just look like Jim Carrey; he’s funny like him, too.
The Dallas Mavericks head coach took some time for a topical joke after a preseason game. The Mavs lost to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday in an evidently ugly affair. Carlisle was not completely pleased with the game, but channeled that frustration into an elite joke:
Rick Carlisle: "The beginning of the game was abominable. It was a Donald Trump debate performance."

HEY-OH
Carlisle’s comment coincided with the day of the third and final presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The head coach has been known to throw a few quips into his press conferences but he took it to a new level with this one. It doesn’t hurt that Mavs owner Mark Cuban has been incredibly vocal about Trump’s shortcomings(pun intended).
Of course, he was aided with the perfect scenario for his team:
the Mavericks were down 23-7 in the first quarter when Carlisle subbed the entire starting five out

I’m not sure which is bigger: the Rockets’ lead in the tweet above or Clinton’s lead in the polls.
Rick Carlisle is already a legend for this joke but if he wants to become transcendent, he needs to make some allusion to Trump blowing a 3-1 lead at some point.
