Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle isn’t afraid to admit the truth. He’s just saying what we all expect to happen. Based off the recent “back injury” that Rajon Rondo suffered in Game 2 of their first round playoff series with the Houston Rockets that will sideline Rondo for the remainder of the season. It’s time to not expect the headstrong point guard to ever wear a Dallas Mavericks uniform again.
From ESPN Dallas reporter Tim MacMahon.
Do you expect Rajon Rondo to ever wear a Mavericks uniform again? "No, I don't," Rick Carlisle said.

Based off their horrible history together, Rondo and the Mavericks going their separate ways was long overdue. Rondo didn’t fit in there from the start and he’s bumped heads with Rick for months now. It all came to the attention of everyone last night when Rajon was benched for the second half of their game 2 loss to the Rockets.
I imagine Rondo is going to take off the rest of the spring and weigh his options but it’s been long perceived that Rondo will be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. Now it has been established that the max will not be offered by the Lakers so if Los Angeles isn’t going to give him the max, does he wait for a team to shell out the cash or will he settle for whatever the Lakers have to offer?
