Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman enjoyed his Superbowl media day. The highlights of Sherman’s coverage was showing off his dancing ability. Head coach Pete Carroll then said Sherman was the teams best dancer.
The other side note included Sherman’s defense on Marshawn Lynch. Sherman later said that
“Every one of the NFL’s personnel should be obligated to speak weekly.”
It is safe to say the all pro corner is upset at the NFL and Roger Goodell in particular.
Under Goodell the league continues to put players like Marshawn Lynch in a position to be mocked by the media, which seems to get a kick out of seeing people struggle on camera. As teammates we’re angry because we know what certain people do well and we know what they struggle with. Marshawn’s talking to the press is the equivalent of putting a reporter on a football field and telling him to tackle Adrian Peterson.
Richard Sherman does make a lot of sense here. It seems the NFL wants players to talk but also restricting what they want them to say. This is why he believed the politically correct Patriots are the gold standard and will likely be unpunished in the deflategate scandal.
