The Seattle Seahawks will have to play the rest of the season without cornerback Richard Sherman. Sherman ruptured his Achilles tendon in the third quarter of Thursday nights game against Arizona.
The cornerback was listed on Seattle’s injury report last week with an Achilles injury.
When asked about Sherman’s injury Seattle head coach confirmed the corner would undergo season ending surgery, “No coming back from that until you get surgery…He’s been a bastion of consistency, competitiveness and toughness. We’re going to miss the heck out of him.”
Thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers! l will do everything in my Power to come back faster and stronger than ever. Until then l will be here to cheer my teammates on! l sincerely appreciate the outpouring of support! Means a lot to me.

Through out his career Sherman has been on of the most outspoken players in the league and like many players Sherman has been critical of the Thursday night games. Many players do not feel that such a short turn around time between games is healthy and adds to the risk of injury. Although, Sherman did admit he thinks his Achilles would have given out regardless, “I’ve put a lot of stress on it. Think it would have gone eventually.”
On the season Sherman has 2 interceptions and 25 tackles.
