There are some who believe that Cleveland Cavaliers reserve forward Richard Jefferson is a better podcast host than a basketball player at this point of his career. He was rarely used during the Cavs recent run through the playoffs until he was dusted off in the NBA Finals mostly for defensive purposes and some easy buckets. But he’s still not the same Richard Jefferson we remember from New Jersey. While his ‘Road Trippin’ podcast is insanely popular with everyone, not just Cavs fans, the former NBA All-Star might still have something to prove. I don’t think he’s backtracking on this one.
Richard Jefferson was hosting the Road Trippin’ Podcast as usual hosts Allie Clifton and Channing Frye are enjoying their summer. RJ counted on some local Los Angeles media personalities to join him as guests. Fox Sports West reporter and co-host of Team Ninja Warrior Alex Curry and Lakers studio anchor Chris McGee took to the Road Trippin’ airwaves with Jefferson.
ROAD TRIPPIN' w/ a summa twist ? @Alex_Curry & @geeter3 join RJ to kick things off!

At one point of the show, the trio started to talk about bringing baseball players on Road Trippin’ and letting the stars of the diamond talk about their career and journey. Jefferson highlighted the discussion noting the differences between athletes in different sports and he divulged he will be returning for his 17th season next year.
You can listen to Jefferson go into detail with his comparison at the 42 minutes mark of the podcast episode 34.
“There’s something inside that only baseball players can talk about. There’s stuff that only they can relate too. The everyday grind… Even as a professional athlete of 17 years and I will be starting my 17th season next year, I am not retiring, I can’t relate to some of the stuff they do and know…”
