‘Thor: The Dark World’ is anything but dark.
The hammer wielding super hero is saving the universe again in the newest and perhaps the most fun movie in the Marvel universe.
The film tries to balance the efforts of action packed sequences with witty humor like the first film, but comes up just a bit short. While it is still wildly entertaining, it quickly becomes cheesy and a bit over done at times. What ‘Thor: The Dark World’ lacks is a sense of imamate danger or urgency. Even as the universe is collapsing under the power of a dark elf, they still find some room for some situational comedy.
Try not to go to the bathroom during the movie as it has a relatively messy plot that will have you lost when you come back. The villian’s motivation is a little unclear and makes you wonder if his taking over the world is just a bad case of PMS.
The best part of the film is the banter between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) which definitely picks up the film in the second half.
‘Thor: The Dark World’ is not one of Marvel’s best, but still highly entertaining and should hold fans over until their next offerings next year.
Don’t forget to stick around after the credits because there is not one, but two extra scenes that will be worth your time.
PS: Keep an eye out for a surprise cameo. And no it’s not Stan Lee.
