It’s hard to believe Reuben Vincent is only 24 years old.
The Charlotte native stepped into the limelight as a teenager under the guidance and mentorship of 9th Wonder. With the blessing of one of Hip-Hop’s greatest minds and talents, Vincent quickly learned the ropes, delivering comprehensive projects like Love Is War, Boy Meets World, Myers Park, and even 2024’s General Admission. Along the way, he’s been welcomed with open arms by those of his generation, like Domani, and veterans like Rapsody. While his track record speaks for itself, the release of his latest body of work not only feels like a confirmation of the praise heaped upon him, but also the mark of a new chapter that sees him graduate from being an emerging artist with energy and charisma to a mature adult who has a firm grasp of who he is and who he hopes to become.
On Friday, October 24, 2025, Vincent released his latest studio album, Welcome Home. With soulful, Southern-infused production and insightful storytelling, the North Carolina native delivers a 59-minute project that feels like catching up with an old friend over a holiday break. And oh, there is a lot he has to catch us up on. Vincent opens up about struggling to let old friends go, his biggest fears, his baby sister’s pregnancy, and so much more. Visually, the North Carolina native skilly juggles leaning into the nostalgia of the 90s, early 2000s aesthetic that he loves, with the modern era. Though, he doesn’t do this alone. From shooting shorts with Taye Diggs to promote the album to features from Wale, Ab-Soul, and others, it’s clear that collaboration is a key part of his artistic process.
If Vincent’s new album is a peek into what he can cook up moving forward, it’s clear that we all have a lot to look forward to. On a Friday in which 27-year-old Dave, 28-year-old Ben Reilly, and many other sub-30-year-old rappers are dropping music, it’s safe to say that Hip-Hop is in good hands.
