Few areas of the country have been more underappreciated in the realm of contemporary Hip-Hop culture quite like North Carolina. Within the last two decades, the state has brought 9th Wonder, Big Pooh, Rapsody, Lute, DaBaby and several others to the forefront. As the Tarheel State continues to evolve and develop new sounds and sights, a star by the name of Reuben Vincent has emerged. Signed to Roc Nation, the North Carolina native has earned the support of 9th Wonder and Rapsody as well as toured with Pusha T. Now, he’s looking to keep the ball rolling with his next major move.
Roc Nation’s Reuben Vincent has announced the release of his latest project, Love Is War. The new project is set to arrive this fall and will be led by the rising star’s latest single, “Geechie Suede.”
“Geechie is slang for descendants of West African slaves who retained their cultural, and linguistic culture and this is Southernplayalisticadillak music right here. Straight Playa sh*t,” Rueben Vincent explained.
“This is me and the guys riding around in the whip on the way to the party ready to pull all the vibes. This is feel-good music. Shout out to Camp Lo!”
“Geechie Suede” is available below and be on the lookout for Love Is War this fall.
