Firstly. Happy Holidays to everyone, I hope all of you are preparing for NBA Christmas games, which we all know blows NFL Thanksgiving out of the water. It’s just fact.
And also with the Christmas games comes the first returns of the All-Star Voting. And like the tradition of getting the first return at the end of the year, it seems that the average NBA fan always make it their mission to get me shouting expletives at the list. I mean. I know this is a Holy day for the Christian faith but Jesus! Some of you take the biscuit with this. Lets go through it list by list. It seems that chicken and potatoes are not the only thing I’m going to roast today.
Eastern Conference Frontcourt
1. LeBron James – 357,937
2. Paul George – 283,785
3. Andre Drummond – 148,278
4. Carmelo Anthony – 132,119
5. Pau Gasol – 109,585
6. Kevin Love – 92,177
7. Chris Bosh – 91,896
8. Kristaps Porzingis – 85,606
9. Hassan Whiteside – 72,923
10. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 25,926
11. Jonas Valanciunas – 12,341
12. Joakim Noah – 10,808
13. Paul Millsap – 10,501
14. Marcin Gortat – 9,443
15. DeMarre Carroll – 8,885
Right, first off. Why is Jonas Valanciunas on this list? He’s been injured. Secondly, well done for not over-voting on Kristaps Porzingis. With all this brown nosing that the mainstream sports media has been doing I’m surprised you people haven’t given in, good for you. I am very happy that everyone is realising that Andre Drummond is a beast. Why am I seeing Joakim Noah’s name? He’s been relegated to the bench and even when he is on the court he’s meh. He is suffering under the Hoiberg regime.
Eastern Conference Backcourt
1. Dwyane Wade – 300,595
2. Kyrie Irving – 138,191
3. Kyle Lowry – 128, 131
4. Jimmy Butler – 111,220
5. John Wall – 103,094
6. Derrick Rose – 72,709
7. DeMar DeRozan – 69,042
8. Jeremy Lin – 61,832
9. Isaiah Thomas – 45,014
10. Nicolas Batum – 20,596
This is probably the most disgusting list out of the four. First, I can hear some of you asking why Dwyane Wade is leading. Zip it, he deserves to be there, he’s 2nd in Player Efficency Rating amongst shooting guards. Don’t battle that one. Secondly, Kyrie Irving. Are you freaking kidding me? He’s played ONE game. You Kyrie fanboys are getting onto Kobe fanboys level. You fanboys need to stop tossing it to the Uncle Drew videos and wake up. Why is Nicolas Batum so low? You do know he’s having a career year and because of that Charlotte are in prime position to be one of the best teams in the East, he should be top 5. Isaiah Thomas has been better than Derrick Rose and Jeremy Lin in my opinion. As a matter of fact why is Derrick Rose even on this? This is a sorry list.
Right, onto the Western Conference and guess what? More BS.
Western Conference Backcourt
1. Kobe Bryant – 719,235
2. Kevin Durant – 349,473
3. Blake Griffin – 182,107
4. Kawhi Leonard – 164,521
5. Draymond Green – 150,350
6. Anthony Davis – 156,161
7. Tim Duncan – 127,543
8. DeMarcus Cousins – 101,930
9. Dwight Howard – 66,958
10. LaMarcus Aldridge – 65,019
11. Dirk Nowitzki – 56,377
12. DeAndre Jordan – 49,696
13. Enes Kanter – 47,806
14. Harrison Barnes – 43,343
15. Kevin Garnett – 42,285
Why, why, WHY does DeMarcus Cousins get this treatment every year?! 8th?! What does the guy have to do to get a measly All-Star vote? I don’t know who to blame the NBA fan for being ignorant or the Sacramento Kings for not putting the work in. And of course I won’t leave this list without mentioning Kobe Bryant. All I have to say about that is this.
You can add the votes for Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Kawhi Leonard and you will still be over 20,000 votes off Kobe Bryant. That’s all I have to say about that. Well done everyone, outdone yourselves with this one.
Western Conference Guards
1. Stephen Curry – 510,202
2. Russell Westbrook – 267,699
3. Chris Paul – 146,355
4. Klay Thompson – 138,587
5. James Harden – 135,531
6. Rajon Rondo – 66,164
7. Andre Iguodala – 62,407
8. Damian Lillard – 47,615
9. Manu Ginobili – 42,413
10. Tony Parker – 40,693
This is probably the most respectable out of all of the list. Curry and Westbrook definitely 1 and two, Klay has come back into All-Star form so that 4th is justified. Now why can’t you people have common sense with all of them like you’ve done with this list?
You still have plenty of time to vote. So please, use your vote with care, because I’m sick of having to steam over this because NBA fans do dumb things like voting for Kyrie Irving who’s played a grand total of ONE game this season. Last year I did a piece saying ban NBA fans from NBA All-Star voting and every year my call is justified. The Kobe voting is silly already, DeMarcus Cousins is criminally low. Coaches and players would not have this problem. You know the quote “game recognise game”? Well at the moment NBA fans are saying “OMG KOBE AND KYRIE MUST VOTE”. Please use your vote wisely
