E! News isn’t the only show getting the axe this week. Ahead of the show’s season four finale, Resident Alien has gotten the pink slip from the USA Network.
If there is a silver lining for fans of the series, the show nearly came to an end shortly before it earned a fourth season renewal. As a result, showrunner Chris Sheridan and the team behind Resident Alien planned to wrap as much of the show as they could while still leaving the door open for a fifth season.
“I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,” creator and showrunner Chris Sheridan told TV Insider. “Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I’m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.”
This may not be the outcome Sheridan and others were hoping for, but the season four finale plans to pack a bittersweet, yet highly anticipated punch. The finale episode will air on August 8, 2025.
