Multiple outlets have reported that Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris have emerged as the lead candidates to becoming Joe Biden’s running mate. Furthermore, reports have indicated that Harris is the leading candidate, while Warren is the back up.
“When you really give it some thought, and you hear him talk about what he’s looking for in a running mate, she’s the one that checks all the boxes,” an unidentified Biden ally said about Harris.
“She really is a standout in terms of keeping [Democrats] together and keeping donors warm,” another Biden supporter indicated about Harris
Harris seemed like an unlikely candidate just a few months ago when her and Biden shared a contentious moment on the debate stage regarding segregation in schools. Despite that dust up, many believe that they have moved past that moment.
“We’re at a point now where whoever was part of the scrimmage needs to be on the same team. And I think they are,” Rep. Jim Clyburn said about the pair’s relationship.
Biden’s final decision is still months away from being made despite seemingly have secured the party’s nomination.
