The Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly looking to add some reinforcements, in the form of center Ryan Hollins:

Hollins spent the summer in the Grizzlies’ training camp before being waived. He also spent some time playing for the Wizards this season. With Brandan Wright currently nursing an injury, the Grizzlies are in dire need of depth in their frontcourt. Hollins has shown an ability to fill that sort of role as the fourth or fifth big man in a rotation. This is a simple but good decision for the Grizzlies who are in need of a spark as they try to gain a status as a title contender.
Waiving Russ Smith, meanwhile, is not a huge loss for the Grizzlies. Smith has some potential as a backup point guard in the league and will likely generate some interest as he becomes a free agent. However, he is not a player ready to contribute to a solid playoff team just yet. Waiving Smith gives the Grizzlies the opportunity to sign Hollins to fill a much bigger hole.
