Report: Kyrie Irving Added To Three-Point Shootout At All-Star Weekend
Kyrie Irving will be joining Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kyle Korver, J.J. Redick, and Wesley Matthews in the Three-Point Contest on Saturday night of All-Star Weekend, reports Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
Cleveland Cavaliers’ point guard Kyrie Irving will PARTICIPATE
in the NBA’s Three-Point CONTEST
during All-Star Weekend on Feb. 14 in New York, a league source informed Northeast Ohio Media…
Irving, 22, will also make his third All-Star game appearance on Feb.15. The fourth-year guard won the deep-ball event in 2013.
Holy wow. This is going to be a real shootout. In fact, this could turn out to be the most anticipated event of that night. Kyrie just went off for 11 three-pointers against Portland last week, and Klay Thompson went 9-for-9 from three in one quarter the week before. Curry is Curry, Redick is Redick, Korver is making history with a 50+ three-point shooting percentage, and Wesley Matthews is actually leading the league in threes made right now.
Adding Kyrie makes it even nastier. As mentioned he won this contest two years ago. Goes without saying that this one is wide open. Who’s your pick?
