Providence point guard Kris Dunn will likely declare for the NBA draft according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. Dunn, a junior, is projected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming draft by Draft Express.
Dunn is a 6’4″ point guard who has had plenty of success on the collegiate level. He averaged 16.4 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game this season en route to his second Big East player of the year award. He is also known for his defense, having earned the conference’s defensive player of the year twice.
Dunn’s largest disadvantage in the draft process is likely his age. At 22 years old, he will be one of the oldest prospects entering the draft and that could hurt his stock some. Nevertheless, he will still certainly be a lottery pick.
Dunn’s Providence team was eliminated in the NCAA tournament by North Carolina in the Round of 32 after a 23-10 season.
